Backyard Games for your Child

Introduction

Sometimes spending outdoor time with your children becomes necessary as a parent.

Not just for your children but for your own self too you choose to spend some outdoor time playing some games.

This helps in creating a good and healthy relationship. Well, now when you are in a backyard you can play various games with your children for entertainment.

But the question is what interesting games you can play with your children which not only entertain them but also make them smart overall by developing their interest.

Here, a few interesting backyard games are going to be discussed which really can interest both parents and children.

Putterball

Well, this game is similar to golf which has been developed perfectly for your backyard where you can play with your children.

Children who are enthusiastic in golf can start learning from Putterball. This game is easy and surely fun to play.

For playing this game you need a Putterball set which comes with the portable Putterball game green mat with golf balls, putter and turf hole covers.

Along with the children, elders too can enjoy this game and can have their happy outdoor moment.

Spud

Another interesting game for your backyard which you can play with your children including all other members of your family.

In this game, each player gets a number like one, two or so on relying on how many members are playing.

There should be one player as an “it” around whom all the other players form a circle. Now “it” throws the ball in the air and yells the random number given to each player.

The player whose number is called out must catch the ball, meantime every other player spreads out. When the called-out player catches the ball, everyone must freeze.

Now after catching the ball, the player must strike the ball and try to hit another targeted player.

If he/she hits the targeted player then that player will become “it” or if he misses, he becomes the “it”.

Here ” it” gets the letter “S”. And if “it” already has the letter “S” then he/she will get the letter “P” and so on.

Once a player reaches the word “SPUD”, he/she will be out of the game.

Scavenger ABC Hunt

This game is similar to a treasure hunt but the only difference is here players get the list of letters A, B, C till Z which they have to use to find out things that begin with every alphabet from around their backyard.

Whoever finds all the items first wins the game. To play this game, use a paper plate and cut it down into 26 tabs and write the letters on it.  Players can tear off the paper tab as they uncover the items.

Nature to Nature

Another interesting game which was founded by the 9-year-old from Wisconsin.

This game is very simple and interesting which includes one nature guide that you have to make one among the players who choose or picks the item that can be found naturally outside in the backyard or nature and shows it to the players.

The players have to find out the similar-looking item in targeted time (eg. 2 minutes). The player who finds out the most similar item will be the winner and new guide in the game.

Green light, Yellow light and Red light

This is another one of the very simplest games which you can play with your children in the backyard anytime you wish.

The player who will be the “it” handles or calls out the traffic lights. Players have to run when “it” calls out green light, have to walk on a yellow light and have to stop on the red light.

Players have to start again if they get caught while moving during the red light. The goal is to touch the “it”, whoever touches will become the “it”.
