Are you looking for a way to keep your kids busy but excited? Fun garden games will do the trick. It’s time for your kids to get out and have some fun.

You don’t need to drive out; they can have a lot of fun in the garden.

Below is a list of amazing garden games that they can play safely and catch fun. You might even get interested and also join for fun. It doesn’t hurt to have such fun even as an adult.

Children cannot do without a daily dose of fresh air. Playing in the garden is healthy and provides as much fresh air as they need.

Garden Games for Kids

These garden games are guaranteed to provide fun and excitement for little ones.

1. Ancient sack race still means some fun in the garden

Adults can also play this fun game with kids in the garden. Plot an old-fashioned fun trail. Arrange the garden perfect for a fun-filled sack race and set a finish line.

You can easily get sacks from materials in your home or buy them. Children will have to wear the sack, move swiftly, and compete to reach the finish line. The first kid to get there wins.

2. Safari in your garden

Do your kids love insects? Then they might find this game interesting. No worries, even your garden is a jungle. Especially if it hasn’t been cut just yet.

Let the kids go hunting for insects in the garden. All you need is a nice magnifying glass.

Every ‘new specie’ that is discovered is noted as a point. You can make the game more interesting by placing a reward.

Don’t forget to release the animals in their natural habitat after the game, otherwise, you will soon be left with a jar of dead beetles.

This game involves using the microscope to educate kids about animals while catching fun.

3. Prick the balloon

A super nice idea for some simple entertainment that does not affect your grass that much is the balloon pricking/throwing.

You pick up a plate of the soft board where you poke all of the inflated balloons with a thumbtack. Of course, you stick those thumbtacks through the button of the balloon and not through the balloon itself.

Then start this fun garden game by having the children grab a dart and aim at the balloons and aim at the board one after the other.

They must try to burst the balloons from a distance with the dart. The one who has smashed the most balloons wins the game.

4. Create your bowling alley

If you have a garden path, then create your bowling alley for the kids. The garden is ideal for bowling.

Luckily, you don’t need to go out and buy some pins to be used as obstacles, you can improvise. Make the cones from empty milk cartons or bottles and use tennis balls to knock them over.

Strike! That’s it. The excitement of striking and getting back on board will keep them excited throughout the day.

5. Make a fountain

A short game, yes, but every child must play this garden game at least once. This is one of the best garden games to play.

Make your fountain in no time with a bottle of cola and peppermint. Put the peppermint in the bottle filled with cola and shake well to create the fountain.

Be sure to put the bottle on a solid surface because it will put so much pressure on it and may fall over easily.

Be quick since the reaction is so quick that you have to stand at a safe distance not to be bombarded with cola. Kids will be excited at this sight. Try this once and the experience will push you to do it again.

6. Make a firm bubble blower

One of the most fun gardens games kids enjoy is the bubble blower. This game might cost you some time to set up but your kids will thank you for it.

Go for the sturdy bubble blower with which you can make huge bubbles. You can easily make the sturdy bubble yourself. What do you need?

  • 1 cup of dish soap (preferably without lemon)
  • 8 cups of warm water
  • 3 teaspoons of glycerin (can be found at the drugstore)

How do you make a solid bubble blower?

Put everything together and stir the mixture. Be sure to provide 2 sticks and a rope. Use a cotton rope or make your rope by cutting a strip of fabric.

Before you tie the rope or fabric to the sticks, put a metal ring around it so that the bottom rope of the triangle drops down. Your bubble blower is ready. Get your kids and go have some fun time.

Dip your rope in your bubble-blowing mixture. Just good baptism. Then let it drain, hold the sticks apart, and slowly walk. This is how you draw the most beautiful big bubbles right in your garden.

7. Set up an obstacle course right in your garden

Trust me, your kids will be excited about this idea. You don’t have to go out to get them an obstacle course.

Right in your garden, you can set up obstacles out of the garden furniture, ropes, boxes, tarpaulin, and so on. And let the children go move around the course to see who is the fastest even with the obstacles.

8. The egg-spoon game

This used to be very popular. It’s easy and fun. You only need a raw egg and a spoon. Place the egg on the spoon and let children go steadily and carefully with the egg.

You can have other children come to your garden because the game is more fun with more cheers.

The first kid who makes it to the finish without dropping the egg is the winner. You can join your kids in this game as they’ll also love to watch you move with the egg-spoon.

Make sure that you get enough boxes of eggs before playing this game. Talk about hilarious garden games, this is one.

9. Make a (vegetable) garden

Children also love to dig into the soil with their fingers. This can stand as a pleasant garden game for them.

Go gardening together; plant bulbs, weed, put new plants in the garden, or start a vegetable garden together so that they can see for themselves where vegetables come from. This activity will even be more fun if it’s their first time.

10. Let kids set up a tent or build a cabin

Kids can set up a tent or make their hut out of boxes, blankets, old curtains, and garden furniture. They can go inside to tell ghost stories, have a picnic, playschool, animal doctor, or restaurant.

Final Words

You might know more fun games but you just didn’t give it a second thought. Make that your fun idea is fun for kids. Let the experience be worthwhile.

What are your kids’ favorites? Plan the garden game time with their favorite ideas. This will get them more engaged and make the game time an amazing experience.

However you do it, have fun with your kids and ensure that lawnmowers for large acres or other types of machinery are not used while kids play on the lawn or in the garden. This is to create a safe environment.

These garden games will give kids hours of fun and excitement. If you find any of them interesting, map out a day in a week to repeat the fun time.

Making it a planned date would be fun. You can also use garden games as an incentive to make your kids do their assignments.
